OK, so Sunday I moved The Seven out of mom’s side of the garage after she left for church then waited around for her to get home and went to lunch with her. After that I debated going out in The Seven for a hoon and/or down to the shop to mess with stuff. I decided to move The Seven to the covered patio out back and take a nap. At around 1730 h I texted John to see if the car thing was still on. As far as he knew, it was. He wasn't sure if he was going to make it and I began to debate whether or not I wanted to either. At 1800 h I did get up and go. The car ran well all the way there and I pulled in to find several cars already in attendance. I parked and unfolded myself from the cockpit. We hung out and watched the fire department and electric company mess with the Burger Street “restaurant” behind Freebird’s, which apparently had an electrical issue and/or fire earlier. Freebird’s was without power for a while so none of us could go in and get drinks. That kind of sucked. Eventually they got power back on and we all went inside to eat. I'd had a big lunch so I decided to pass on real food. I had a chocolate chip cookie and a diet Pepsi instead. I finger they canceled each other out. While we were “eating” another car or two arrived so Jeff and I went out to chat with them. Everyone else came out too eventually. We all hung out for a bit while I watched the gathering clouds. Of course they were gathering to the east and west of us but not overhead. When it began to look a little too ominous to the west, I took my leave. Everyone had a laugh at me folding myself back into the car. Jealous much? I headed home and watched the sky darken. Right about the Camp Bowie exit off of I-20, it began to cool off. Another mile or so and I could smell rain. It never did rain on me but as I passed Ridgmar Mall the road was wet. I got spray off of the front tires but no direct wetness from above. I parked the car and pulled Ms. Clio back into the driveway. Oh, I guess I could talk a little about the cars what done showed up. Well, there was The Seven of course, Jeff’s Toyota truck, the Honda scooter dude, a first gen RX-7, a couple Corrolas, at least one Celica, some Hondas of various and sundry models, one or two Sentras, a Cressida... and probably some more. I don't really remember. If it were my event, I'd probably give more of a shit... but it isn't... so I don't. So there. Hopefully next month we’ll be able to field two B-210s and a 610, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't know, we’ll see. And on that note...
