1/10/13
Well, as far as Lil' Wiggly goes, everything is back to normal. The funeral isn’t until Tuesday so we won't
be going to Odessa until Monday. Of
course now I have to ask for yet another day off. Oh well, hopefully it won't cost me my
job. I already have the guy on the books
for tomorrow and hopefully Monday so adding Tuesday shouldn’t be an issue… I
hope. Whatever. Hmm, now that I think about it, I might call
the home office and ‘fess up about tomorrow… as in, not needing it off after
all. Basically, get it changed from
Friday and Monday off to Monday and Tuesday off. I'm going to talk to the coverage guy, if
he’ll call me back, and see what he thinks first though. If he wants to take over out here for all
three days, I guess I'll let him. I
don’t know, we’ll see. But the good news
is now I'm available to meet John and pick up Lil' Wiggly's engine
tomorrow! Also, that frees me up to go
to the shop with John on Saturday. What
we need to do is NOT mess with the engine until the chassis is ready with the
front suspension back on at the very least.
I think we can do that… I hope.
Well, the coverage guy says, “Go ahead and take Friday off,” so I think
I will. And on that note, I think I'm
going to shut down the rant for a while since I'm not coming up with more stuff
to say anyway. So, where was I? Ok, got it.
The home office has confirmed that I am going to be off until next
Wednesday to go to Norma’s funeral.
Since we won't be heading that direction until Monday morning, I feel a
tad guilty… but just a tad. I'll have a
chat with John either this evening or sometime tomorrow to coordinate when
we’re going to take delivery of the engine from his work. I imagine it will take place in the prevening
hours of 1530 to 1700. Yes, I think I am
going to try to adopt Sheldon Cooper’s idea of a time of day between
“afternoon” and “evening” called “prevening,” pronounced “PREEV-ning” of
course. I don’t remember what his time
frame for prevening was, so I'm going with the aforementioned 1530 to 1700. Well, I've got a guy here installing my new
printer so I'd better call the rant a week.
Toodles.
