Woo hoo!  Scooby Two’s tires arrived yesterday!  I don’t know if we’re going to try to get them mounted tomorrow but… we’ll see.  I really need to get my shit together and get a title for the thing.  I’m ready to start driving it.  Oh, one of the other things I did at the shop last Sunday was to finish removing the rub strips and associated rivets from the sides of the car.  John mentioned doing some sort of “Starsky and Hutch” stripe down the side to mask off the holes, a plan which I like very much.  Of course it wouldn’t be a white “Starsky and Hutch” hockey stick stripe but something like a dark blue accent stripe sort of thing.  Of course Juan could go with gold stripes and paint the steel wheels gold with an eye towards a State Express 555 Subaru WRC homage… sort of thing.  I don’t know though, the whole “555 Car” thing has kind of been done to death.  Yeah, we probably won’t go that route unless John really likes the idea.  I’ve sent him a text asking for an opinion.  We’ll see what he has to say.  “Not bad,” was his reply.  I followed up with the question, “Not ‘done to death’?” and now that I have typed that phrase three times, it has lost all meaning to me.  Tartlet… tartlet… tartlet.  Hmm, I think I want to find a line drawing of a Subaru Leone and play around with it in Paint.  Psh, like I’m ever going to find a line drawing of a Subaru Leone!  Never mind.  Then again, I did find a line drawing of a Datsun 1200 way back in 1994 when I was toying with paint schemes for the Chickenhawk.  Of course a 1973 1200 was only twenty-one years old then, a 1980 Subaru is thirty-five years old now… HOLY SHIT!  That can’t be right.  Well, I mean the math is correct but… “That just ain’t right!”  Oh crap, I’m old.  And with that “revelation,” I think I’m done for the day… at least talking to y’all wise.
