So I've been reading up on shortening shotgun barrels. It appears as though it is legal to chop off a shotgun barrel as long as it remains over 18” and the entire gun length stays over 26”. I'd really like to shorten the Auto 5 but I'm not about to do it to the original barrel. My sister would take it away and shoot me with it! Unfortunately, the only replacement barrel I've found for it is $350.00! I hadn't thought about the Saiga until now but I'd have no problem chopping the hell out of it. Of course cutting the Saiga's barrel down would make my Tromix flash suppressor thingy superfluous, unless I had the barrel re-threaded that is. Hmm, methinks I need to cipher and figger on this some more. No, I probably won't be cutting down the barrels of my shotguns any time soon. They sure would look a lot cooler if I did though. Oh well. So, I'm thinking that this weekend we need to get rid of the HL-A10 Violet taking up space at the shop. Then I can drop Super Karate-Monkey Death Car into that spot and... hey, I didn't roll up the windows in that car after I dropped the trailer off. Crap! Fortunately there really isn't anything in there to steal. I hope. Worst case, there’ll be a critter living in it when we go to take it off the trailer. We'll see. So, we’re now thinking all S-110 200SX suspension under Super Karate-Monkey Death Car along with the Chickenhawk's old Z-20S two liter. Basically, it’ll be an S-110 200SX minus at least 500 pounds. Sure, the rear suspension won't be the same four link setup, but it will be awfully similar otherwise. I know I shouldn't be making plans for this car when other cars are stagnating, but I really think we can bang this one out pretty quickly and move on to another, especially with the “known quantity” of the NAPS-Z engine. Oh, another beauty of the NAPS-Z, the carburetor will be on the passenger side so if I run a snorkel up the windshield post, it won't be in the driver’s way. Of course John might try to convince me to use the fuel injection. It won't take a whole lot to convince me, but in my mind right now the car has a carburetor. I think it will be a much simpler install that way. Of course it’ll mean scrounging up a Weber DGV from somewhere. Hmm, perhaps injection will be easier. We'll see. Well, I guess it is confession time. There is one more bit of information I haven’t shared yet. In order to not have to buy back the monster A-14 from Gregg, I had to convince him that he needed to keep it for some future project. He wants something to race “NOW!” Since I got The Seven running again, I've been thinking that Lil' Wiggly might just be a tad more superfluous than before. So, we came to an agreement and he’s buying Lil' Wiggly for $1,000.00 and Super Karate-Monkey Death Car. I'll keep the leather Saturn seats, the worn out A-14, and the four speed from it and he’ll put in the bad ass A-14 and five speed I'd sold him. The car already has the suspension he was planning to build for the 1200 and the A-14 will bolt right in. With a little more lightness added, that ought to be a fun little racer for him. I'm not sure what he’ll do about the fender mirrors, but that’ll be his problem. Of course if he’s taking them off, I'll want them back. I think I am going to keep the “WIGGLY” plates as well. Perhaps Ms. Clio will get them next. We'll see. I'll be sad to see Lil' Wiggly go, but it might light the fire to finish a 1200, or two. Again, I think we could knock out Super Karate-Monkey Death Car in short order if we get down to it. Then again, it is getting awfully hot out there...
