11/17/10

As I was reading yesterday’s entry, I realized I'd left out some stuff. First off, starting about Wednesday the 3rd, my cat began sneezing and acting all stuffed-up in the head-bone. By Friday I was getting concerned. I called the vet and asked “Yo! Wat up wit dis?” OK, actually I ’splained the situation and asked them what to do. They recommended giving her Children’s Benadryl if I was pretty sure it was allergies. If not, I was to bring her in. Well, she did not like the Benadryl, to put it mildly. I managed to get one or two drops in her and she began to hork up massive quantities of phlegm-like mucus all over the place. She did seem a bit better for a little while afterwards though. Alas, it didn't take. She was sneezing and stuffy again far too soon. I tried a few drops mixed in to her food later and got the same phlegm-horking reaction. By Monday morning I'd had enough and took her in to the vet. He took her temperature and, since he didn't comment on it, I assumed it to be normal. “Allergies it is!” I decided. He put a couple drops of something in her nose, an act she did not approve of one bit I might add, and sent me on my way. Oh, it cost me $50.00 of course, but I do kind of like that silly little fur ball. She cleared up and has been fine ever since. Having said all of that, I was pretty sure it was allergies all along because in the two and a half years I've had her, she’s gotten sneezy three or four times, right around spring and/or fall. Allergy season. Up above, when I said “I’d had enough,” I meant, “I’d had enough cat-snot sprayed on everything.” My laptop screen was getting pretty hard to read by the end. OK, so now I can account for some of the 5th, 6th, and 8th that I couldn't yesterday. Also, after the gun show on the 7th, we had the Japanese Old School car thing at the Purple Cow. I drove The Seven and hung out with the die-hards who actually show up for this thing time and again. It was cool but not quite cold and I wore the Russian tanker’s helmet and goggles I'd bought for just such a driving experience. So, we’re now caught up to Wednesday evening when I got back from the hunting trip, right? Right. While I was in Graham, not pooping at the Wal-Mart, Gregg called. No, wait. Gregg called right as we were arriving at the cabin. I agreed to come see him when I got back. My sister “loaned” me a fifty for some “walkin’ around money” before we left and I fingered it would be a pittance offering to keep Gregg happy for the time being. The call while I was not pooping was from the Credit Onion lady about my loan. I gave her the information she needed and said I'd see her when I got back. So, Thursday I went to Gregg's, picked up some more Datsun parts, gave him the fiddy, and headed to the Credit Onion. Yeah, it was Veteran’s Day. The CU was closed. I took the parts to the shop and wasted the rest of the day. OK, I'm going to stop here because a) I have to pee and 2) I want to spread the love out for another day or two.
