12/23/10

Man, it is a friggin’ ghost town here. I really don't think I'm going to make it all the way to 1700 h today. I did cut out early yesterday and burned through sixty some-odd rounds of ammo in Katie and the Judge. I like Katie. I need to run another fifty or so rounds though her before I declare her “broke in” but all in all she shoots really well. A little low, but fairly accurate nonetheless. Oh, as for the recoil of a 9mm in that small of a gun, it wasn't too bad while shooting, but when I set it down I knew I'd been firing a gun. I wasn't sore by any stretch of the imagination, but tingly. The Judge was as good as ever except for a few light primer strike misfires. I think it only happened when firing double action though. My theory is, as I'm pulling the trigger and waiting for the bang, I ease off just as the hammer releases. This doesn't allow the transfer bar to fully engage the firing pin when the hammer falls. Every time I did a full pull of the trigger, it fired. I guess it is similar to a limp-wrist misfeed in an automatic pistol. Well, I doubt it will be an issue since I'll be pulling that trigger for all it is worth if the thing is ever needed. After I shot all my ammo, I headed home. I took surface streets since it was only 1600 h. I got home in time for it to appear as if I'd been at work until almost 1700 h. Well, I don't really have anything else for y'all today. I guess we’ll just see what I have to say next week. If anything.
