12/13/10
I did nothing worthwhile over the weekend. [ Sorry... - SM ] I did take the table and chairs to the dude in Granbury to be refinished, but after that... squat. I wound up watching all four series (“seasons” if you prefer the American term) of “Coupling” on DVD. Series One and Two: Hilarious! Series Three: very funny but a lot of episodes ended on a downer. Series Four: pretty good, fairly funny but the guy who “replaced” Jeff was a bit too manic and seemed to be trying too hard to “do” Jeff. Also, Series Three and Four had too many “Jane-centric” episodes for my taste. I don't like Jane, except in small doses. Oh, by the way, Series Four was the only one I had never seen before this weekend. The last few of Series Three weren’t as familiar as the rest, but I'm pretty sure I'd seen them. Of the series as a whole, the absolute best episode of them all has to be “Inferno.” I've seen it dozens of times and I laugh my ass off every... single... time. Of course “End of the Line,” when everyone is either Giselle or Dick Darlington, is another friggin’ laugh riot. Great show. Just great. Sunday, I finished up the “Coupling” marathon while taking breaks to go to lunch with mom and dropping her off for some church thing in the evening. So, there you have it. A totally wasted weekend. Hopefully we’ll get something done on Nadine this Saturday. Sunday I'm planning to go to the gun show with Larry Shuttlebus to look for a Saiga 12 gauge... or two. And on that, I'll call it a rant
