Holy crap! I have got the worst case of “don’t give a damn” ever. It borders on being “don’t give a shit” in fact. Hopefully it won't develop into a case of “don’t give a fuck” because... well, that would be bad. Anyhoo, right after talking to John yesterday about a possible fix for Barbecue Bob's throttle cable, a fix we both independently arrived at simultaneously, I got a call from a strange number. It was John. Apparently he dropped his i-gotta-be-just-like-everyone-else-Phone one too many times and broke the screen. He asked what I was doing after work and would I be available to go to the AT&T store with him for a new one. I said I would and we agreed on a place and time to meet. I picked him up at his work and we went to the nearest store. Yeah, he is 37 days short of being able to upgrade. She said they are allowed to “push it” thirty days, but that is still next week. John was noticeably pissed. I shrugged it off because... well, remember the “don’t give a damns” up above? So I took him back to his work. He apologized for wasting my time but the joke is on him, my time is worthless to begin with. Ha ha! (Incidentally, that “Ha ha!” should have the accent on the second “ha” to properly convey its meaning.) Anyhoo, we discussed the shop and stuff but nothing real was decided. At home, I discussed the plans for the shop at the house with mom and we both agree that the “detached garage and driveway” style shop looks the best. We both also think the pecan tree can go away but that’s just a logistics thing. So, I need to get together with a couple building contractors and get a ballpark quote for this project. What will need to happen is the sprinkler system will have to be dug up before anything else can move ahead. Then a retaining wall will need to be built and backfilled. Once we have grade, we can pour the drive and foundation for the shop. The shop itself wouldn't necessarily have to be built immediately though. I guess it just depends on how much all of this is going to cost and how soon I want out of the Beenbroke shop. Oh, I guess y'all can tell I've decided to stay in the “way too big for one guy and a cat” house after all. Probably. We'll see. Well, I've got to go hold someone’s hand in the Viewing Gallery. I'll talk to y'all again tomorrow.
