OK, so I'm not going to convert my Saigas just yet. I did, however, just buy a US made hammer and gas piston for the 7.62x39 so it will be 922r legal with any magazine, foreign or domestic. That means I will soon have three more legal magazines for that gun, two five-round and one more ten-round. It also means I can buy one of those Korean-made 75-round drum mags for it! Tee hee! I'm not sure I will do that... aw hell, who am I kidding? Of course I'm going to buy one of those! Just not right now. Anyhoo, since I'm happy with the trigger in the 7.62x39, and I'm hoping it is the hammer to disconnector interface making the 12 gauge’s trigger so shitty, I'm going to install the old hammer from the 7.62x39 in the 12 gauge and see if that solves the issue. If not, then I might revisit the conversion idea on the shotgun. I suppose I could try the US made hammer in the 12 gauge first and see it IT solves the shitty trigger problem. Then I could just buy another US hammer or swap fire control units between the two guns. Hmm, another hammer would be easier but swapping FCUs would be cheaper. No, I'm going to stick with Plan A for now and swap the hammer from the 7.62x39 into the 12 gauge when the new hammer arrives. I might, for shits and giggles, swap hammers before the new one arrives just to try it out. Speaking of trying it out, I need to call my sister and find out about that Clay Shoot coming up. OK, so that will be happening on the 20th and, hopefully, we’ll be able to “play around” on the range the night before. I really want to try the Saiga 12 out before trying to use it in “competition.” I've told her not to put me on any team with serious competitive aspirations because I'm just out there to have some fun shoosting my shotgun(s). I guess I'll reinstall the butt stock on Mossy for this event. I mean, if all else fails, there ain’t nothin’ more reliable than a pump shotgun. Well, I suppose throwing a rock might be a little more reliable. So, I'm planning to bring the Saiga 12, Mossy, and the Auto 5 with me for this thing. If nothing else, I just want to shoost the damned things. But I've already said that, more or less. Hmm, I'm going to need to buy a box or two of bird shot. Then again, having a little bird shot around probably isn't such a terrible idea. Yeah, I'll probably keep some around after the event is over. Oh, about this Clay Shoot, it is to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Hood (?) County. I'm not sure what the price for registration is but I'm in. I've invited Larry and plan to, right now apparently, invite John as well. So John, any interest in shoosting some clay pigeons with us on the 20th? Too bad it isn't on the 13th when your fambly will be camping, eh? Oh well. Anyhoo John, if you’re interested, you can use Mossy if y’ont to. Feh, screw that. I'm sending him a text now. OK, he’s possibly in. I've also just invited Pat but he says they might be moving that weekend. Hmm, I seem to remember him talking about looking at houses up in this neck of the woods now that I think about it. Well, anyone who knows me knows that if it isn't about me, I don't listen very closely nor do I retain the information long. Hey, at least I'm honest about it. Anyhoo, I guess if the two of them are in, I'll let them choose which gun they want to use. Of course I'm going to use the Saiga if it works. They can choose between the Auto 5 and Mossy. Hells Belles, if I get Pat, John, and Larry to do this, we’ll have a whole team. We'll probably be the worst group out there, but at least we’ll save some other team that ignominy. Meh, who knows. It will probably all fall through anyway. We'll see. And on that note, I think I'm going to call it a rant. Have a day.
