1/27/12

I haven’t had anything to say this week. Duh, or I would have been in here talking to y'all. So, what can I say today? I dunno. I think we’re planning to install the fog light surrounds and cold air intake on Fiona tomorrow. Oh, by the way, the fog light surrounds arrived from Korea the other day. They are really cool and will let in TONS of air. I can see now how Seoulful Racing got such high dyno numbers when they put them on. And they look bitchin’ too! They are already flat black but I think we’ll want to hit them with another coat of paint, just to be safe. Of course I'll leave all those æsthetic things up to John. He might say they are fine the way they are. We’ll see. We might look at putting that yellow film on the fog lights themselves while we have them out. I don’t know if we’ll have the time for that, but… well, we’ll see. John had suggested doing it before but didn’t want to without removing them. He was afeared that just filming the face might allow a ghost ring of clear to show around the edges. Perhaps we’ll film the faces and paint the edges. I don’t know, we’ll… have to look at them I guess. Yes, I did almost say, “we’ll see,” just then. Dang, a pictured of The Seven just popped up on the work computer’s screen saver. I haven’t driven that car since… November? Yikes! Almost three months! I guess I need to plan on bundling up and driving it to the Japanese car thing next Sunday… if it will start. I suppose I otter try and start it ahead of time so I can fix whatever ails it… be there such an ailment. Hmm, now what? Well, I guess I could talk steel buildings again. I asked for a quote from some Quonset hut style building places and have received three callbacks. Every one of them has a building which would suit my needs that, miraculously, was either returned or refused by the original purchaser! Every one of them has a $38,000.00 steel building they need to move for around $18,000.00 plus shipping. When I mentioned them to Gregg, he pointed out they were most likely monocoque style, free standing units. I thought about it for a moment and remembered that, since I started with a Quonset hut site, they WOULD be monocoque buildings. Yeah, I'm not so sure I want a monocoque building. In a tornado, a solid frame with a skin that can blow off as the safety fuse sounds a lot safer than the whole structure shredding around me. Besides, I want a contractor to give me a final budget for the slab, building, assembly, wiring, plumbing, finishing, and everything so I can see if I have enough credit to make this pipe dream happen. Well, it is now 1100 h and I'm really struggling to think of stuff to say. I guess I'll just call it a rant and go to lunch. Yeah, I'll talk to y'all again Monday.
