1/3/12

Well, I have quite a bit to recount since we haven’t spoken in almost two weeks. First off, there was Christmas Eve. For some reason, my sister wanted her step daughter to come to mom’s for lunch. I still do not understand why because we were all going to Granbury for Christmas day, but I'm not going to harp on it. Well, that plan shot down any chance of John and me going to the shop that particular Saturday. I hung out and helped my sister get lunch ready and eventually the step daughter showed up. WOW! Last time I saw Courtney… well, let’s just say Sir Mix-A-Lot would have been a fan. Her ass was HUGE! So when she walked in my jaw dropped. She’s lost a bunch of weight and looked super-hot! I fought not to stare. We all chatted and milled around until lunch then ate. As we were finishing up lunch, the step son showed up. Oh, he had been invited too but was running late because of an incident with the game warden at the deer lease. I'd go into it but I really don’t give a shit. While hanging out and talking to them, Courtney asked if it was bad that she had boxes of 9mm ammo but no gun to shoot it with. We agreed it was. I toyed with the idea of inviting her to the New Year’s Day gun show but decided against it. Eventually the step kids left and the rest of us took naps until we went to the Christmas Eve service at the church. Linda and Lester left from there while mom and I went to Aunt Margaret’s to drop off presents. Sunday morning sucked. Mom woke me up at 0530 h to say that the neighbor was on the phone and the police were there. Some cock-bite douche-nozzle punk-assed kids had broken out the driver’s windows in Fifi and the truck across the street. I dressed and went out for a look. I couldn’t see anything missing so I gave the cop my information and went back to bed. A few hours later, I got up and mom and I opened presents. I got socks but no underwear this year. Or was it the other way round? Anyhoo, after that we ate some breakfast and got ready to go to Granbury. Now, remember how I said Courtney was without a 9mm pistol? Well, I decided to give her Katey, the Kel-Tec P-11 9mm pistol I used to use as my main carry weapon. I fingered since I had bought that holster and was able to conceal carry Petey, the Taurus PT-92 9mm, it was a little superfluous. I unloaded Katey and packed it up in its original box, along with a spare magazine. I'd forgotten I had two spares mags for it and found the other one later. Anyhoo, with that in hand, mom and I took off for Granbury. There I asked Lester if he thought Courtney would like the gun and he said he’d pay me for it. I shrugged and let that slide. She was quite pleased with it. Her ex-boyfriend had a P-11 so she was familiar with it. The Hood County Sherriff was dining with us and said that it was a good reliable gun, unlike the similar single-stack Kel-Tec 9mm P-11 which, according to him, wouldn’t feed hollow point ammo reliably. After lunch, mom and I headed back home. I pulled Fifi into the driveway and covered the broken window with plastic then went in to arrange to have it replaced. I got an appointment for Monday morning between 0800 h and noon. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, John and I were planning to go to the shop at that time. Mom had baby sat the same folks when they changed the windshields in Fifi and Miss Clio back in the summer so I didn’t feel too bad about abandoning her. I don’t remember all the stuff we accomplished at the shop Monday but I'm sure it was a satisfactory day’s worth of work. John did stuff with his car, I did stuff with Lil' Wiggly, and we both helped each other with both. I think I started putting the dash back together and cleaned up some of the wiring harness. Oh, we also made a sub harness for the gauges and another to run out into the engine bay. We stopped short of putting gauges in the dash though. Around 1230 h, I went back home because my oldest brother was coming over with his family. I arrived not long after they did and we all had lunch. I tried to be cordial, not very hard mind you, to my nephew and his family but did most of my conversing with my sister-in-law until everyone left. Well, since I've filled a page already, and am about to start another story, I think I'll quit for today and save some for tomorrow.
