Well, when I went out to Fiona to drive home last night, I made a point to see where the air bag light on the dash was. It is in the upper right corner and I think I can cover it with a piece of electrical tape. In other words, I'm probably going to replace the steering wheel in Fiona. John is ordering a hub kit and wheel for me and we’ll probably install it next weekend. Of course I also asked on a Genesis Coupe website if any other market got a Genesis Coupe with a steering wheel that doesn’t have the audio and Bluetooth controls. And I just read that the wheel appears to be the same as the one used in the ’08 Accent. Surely there was a base model Accent without Blue-tool controls. I'll shoost John a text to see how tough it is to check his company’s inventory. He says he will check for me. While staring at the wheel in traffic this morning, which is a total lie because I do not sit in traffic but it helps the story flow, I considered how tough it would be to remove the buttons and switches from the stock wheel and fill the holes with fiberglass and smooth the spokes. It shouldn’t be too difficult… for the right person. For me, it would turn into a total disaster. I remember an abomination Versa grille I where I tried to fill in the indentation for the Nissan badge. Needles to say, it did not turn out well. Anyhoo, I think there are a few options on the table now as far as Fiona's steering wheel goes. Ok, so what else? Oh, Larry and I were talking about my Boomstick yesterday and he had a great idea… sort of. He suggested that I remove the butt stock and install that Saiga trunnion with the Picatinny rail on the bottom so I could use that pistol grip on there. It sounded like an awesome idea, until I took the butt stock off of the gun and saw that there was no way in hell to make it work. The stock surrounds the action rather than sitting behind it like on a Mossberg shotgun. The trunnion would have to be severely modified to get it to fit up flush, and even then I doubt it would cover the action properly. So I guess I'm “stuck with” the shorty Monte Carlo stock on the Boomstick. Speaking of the Boomstick, I think I'm going to remove the shell holder I installed and substitute a bandoleer style sling to hold extra shells on that gun. The bandoleer will hold nineteen more shells anyway. Well, unless I gopher the fifty-five shell bandoleer! No, twenty-five will suffice on that gun, I should think. Boy, is that the understatement of the century? I really SHOULD think from time to time. But where is the fun in that? Going off half-cocked is pretty much my strong suit. Well, I'm just about bored to death with talking to y'all. You will just have to make due with a short rant today. So there.
