Ok, so I've noticed that I start almost every one of these rants with, “Ok…”  I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, but I noticed it and fingered y'all otter see it too.  So, I'm sitting here with a tech from the home office that came out to help clear out some closets of some old A/V equipment and didn’t want to drive all the way back to Irving today.  We’re waiting for another tech to bring the DVD player for the Viewing Gallery back from service.  I'm thinking we’ll all cut out and go home after we install that.  As far as DLR specific ranting, I got nothin’.  I haven’t bought or sold any more guns or cars or anything.  Oh, I did “fix” my TV last night though.  See, when I got home I tried to call the TV repair place mom had spoken with but the guy wanted me to bring it in for them to look at.  I decided that wasn’t going to happen.  I knew I had an old cable box in my room which wasn’t being used so I fingered I'd try to hook it up.  Yeah, that didn’t work.  I then took a VCR with a built in tuner and hooked it up.  That worked.  So, now in order to watch TV I have to take the S-Video cable out of the DVD player and hook it into the VCR and use the VCR’s tuner to decode the cable signal.  Yes, I have to use two remotes, one for channel and one for volume, but it works.  I'll swing by Radio Shack and buy an S-Video switcher so I don’t have to swap cables any more to watch DVDs… maybe.  We’ll see.  Well, the tech with the DVD player for the Viewing Gallery is on campus and headed to my office so I guess I'll call this a rant.  Maybe I'll have something good to say tomorrow.  Don’t hold your breath.
