So I went to the Summit Racing website earlier to order a set of intake
manifold bolts, right? Well, while I was
there I looked at some of the other things I had in my “Wish List.” One of those things was an electric water
pump drive kit. I'd shown it to John on
Monday and asked his opinion. He was not
against the idea. I shot him a text
today asking if we otter gopher it since I was placing an order. He talked me out of it so I decided on a set
of chrome valve covers instead. I put
them in the cart. I then asked, “PCV or
vent to atmo?” He confirmed my thinking
that V2A was cleaner æsthetically but that PCV was cleaner environmentally. I decided that since a) I already capped off
the vacuum ports in the manifold and 2) one vented cap and one PCV cap would
never match properly, I would just get two vented caps… environment be
damned! I put them in the cart. The last thing I put in the cart was a set of
valve cover gaskets and I was ready to check out. I got all the way to the point where I was to
enter my credit card information when I remembered my Summit card is in my
dresser at home. I clicked “Cancel
Order” and filled out the “Why are you cancelling this order?” survey. They didn’t have a box for “I forgot that I
didn’t have my credit card on me” so I had to ‘splain it in the comments
section. I plan to place the order this
evening and hopefully the parts will be here for this coming Saturday. Well, that story didn’t take anywhere near as
long as I'd hoped. Well, since I have to
go pee and pick up a projector, I think I'll call this rant complete for the
day.
