Well, I “had to” sell the Judge this weekend. See, I had a periodontal appointment on Monday so I hired a guy to cover for me at work. I was short on the cash needed to pay him so I had to do something. Since I knew I wanted a 3” chambered Magnum Judge eventually, selling the 2.5” chambered Judge made a little sense. Unfortunately, even with the Crimson Trace laser grip, it didn't fetch the kind of money I was hoping fo... it didn't fetch the kind of money for which I was hoping. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Saturday morning I met up with John at the shop and welded his mustache bar hangy-downy thing while we waited for Jeff to show up to borrow my trailer. Eventually he did arrive and we got them all hooked up. Neither John or I were in any mood to start crawling around under his car or mine so we hung out for a bit while his part cooled. We then went to lunch at... um, I don't remember where. Oh, I drove The Seven incidentally and we installed the grille I bought from Dick Brink some time back. We also discussed the massive amount of negative camber in the right front wheel. O decided after lunch to go address that problem. Chuy’s! That was where we ate. I remember now that I ordered one of those Jarrito Mexican sodas and it tasted like mildew. Oh yeah, I drank it anyway. Anyhoo, after lunch I went back to the shop and unbolted the upper control arm from the right side of the car. I “spun” it off and counted thirty revolutions. I decided twenty revolutions back on ought to be just about right. It wasn't. When I reassembled it, it had a degree or so of positive camber. I took it back off and spun in another four turns. Now it looked much better when assembled. No, I did not bother to measure it. Psh, what do you think I am, an alignment shop or something? I'll probably use John's belly-button, er, I mean i-Phone to take a reading the next time he and the car are together. Eventually Jeff showed up to return the trailer and we all went home. I was too hot by this point to hoon so I went directly there. Sunday morning I got a text from Roger asking if I had any lunch plans. I told him I needed to go to Blood Bath & Beyond so dining at the Thai place on 377 and Loop 820 worked for me. I met him and his girlfriend and we ate. Don't ask what I had because I have no idea, they ordered for me. From there I went to BB&B where I was quoted... well, less than I wanted to take, but I was in need of cash. I took the money and headed to the Shooster’s Club to shoost the lever gun. I think that little .45 Colt lever action carbine is my favorite gun right now. It is just so much fun to shoost. I blew through the seventy rounds of “extra” ammo I had on hand and went to the shop to clean the gun. Oh, before I left the Shooster’s Club, I made the mistake of asking what they might have given for a Judge with Crimson Trace grips. I was told a number about $150.00 more than what I took. Of course, and this is what I'm going to hang my hat on, this was an off the cuff “quote” from the counter man, not the official “looked up what it is worth and made a serious offer” offer from the boss. I'm going to assume that the real offer would have been more like what I accepted. So, after cleaning the gun, I went home and hung out. Yesterday I went to that periodontal appointment and, guess what! He wants to slice open my gums! Yea! Oh, and to make things even better, dental insurance will probably only pay about 50% of the $5,000.00 bill! So to get this procedure, I'll have to burn two to four days of vacation AND pay $2,500.00 to boot. I'm beginning to think dentures in my old age are looking pretty good right about now. He didn't make it sound like I'm in any imminent danger of my teeth falling out, in fact he said they are all in there pretty good right now, but I'm sure that will be the horror story he lays on my when I decide against the surgery. Well, I've still got to talk it over with mom some more but I think I'm not going to press for it to happen. And on that note.
