Well, it did not rain on me at any point Friday. I drove The Seven to work for the BNSF Family Day Car Show and parked in the garage. I kept checking in with the guy organizing the event to see what he knew from the radar pictures. All of the storms seemed to be holding off to our north and west. Around 1100 h, I got a text from Pat asking if I wanted “Cheap Italian Girls” for lunch. See, there’s this place on Blue Mound Road called The Spaghetti House with a hot “Goth Girl” waitress and cheap food. I've mentioned it before. Anyhoo, we agreed to meet around 1130 h for lunch. I rolled there in The Seven, duh, at around 1120 h and parked. I wasn't too worried about the weather because it looked pretty clear at that point. Pat arrived and we went in. Our hot “Goth Girl” wasn't there! Crap! We ate anyway. Eventually I rolled back to the railroad and found another spot in the garage. At around 1400 h, I drove The Seven to the Car Show area and hung out with it until 1930 h or so. John came to one of these shows a couple years back and pointed out that there are a ton of MILFs out here. This year was no different. As the sun was setting I headed home. Saturday morning John and I met at Mimi’s for breakfast. It took forever. We eventually headed to the shop around 1100 h only to be turned back by the low water crossing. It must have been four feet deep and running at 30 miles per hour. We discussed what we wanted to do and eventually settled on “calling it a day.” I didn't really want to see a movie and John didn't want to go to the gun show so we gave up. After taking a quick nap, I believe, I headed back out to hoon and go the long way around to the shop. There I trimmed the four US made magazines for the Saiga 7.62x39 so I could install the double mag clip thingies. I glanced at Nadine but didn't even think about doing anything to/with her. I went back home and then mom and I had a steak dinner out. I spoke to Gregg for a while and told him about that Miata for sale. He was all hot and heavy to see it and have a track car to rent out. I put him in touch with Jeff and they arranged to meet up then he’d to come to the shop so we see if my tubing bender would suffice for us to build a cage in Lil' Wiggly. Sunday, noonish, I finally get a call from Gregg saying he’s headed to look at the car but he doesn't think he’ll make it to the shop after all. I hadn't really expected him to make it but hung out to wait for his call anyway. Once I knew we weren’t going to the shop, I headed to Parton’s for the pizza buffet. After that I made it about half way to the gun show before deciding that I'd rather eat lunch this week than pay $13.00 to torture myself looking at guns I can't afford. I went for another hoon. Gregg called back to tell me how awesome the Miata is and offer to sell Lil' Wiggly back to me so he could buy it. I told him I didn't have the money for Lil' Wiggly and we discussed options. Of course, nothing workable was resolved. I decided I'd go with mom to the thing at the church and talk to their Chinaman about him buying Ms. Clio from me. Did I ever mention that the Chinaman at the church wants to buy Ms. Clio from me? Well, he does but we don't know how he’s going to be able to finance it. I doubt it will happen. I let him drive it and we talked about it for a while. I left when everyone went inside to sing, or whatever. And now we’re back at work for another week of fun and games. So, I need to finger out how I'm going to buy Lil' Wiggly back, how I'm going to buy the... oh yeah, I need to tell the deleted story from last Sunday. I went ahead and confessed to John what it is all about so I can let the rest of the world in on it. Remember last week when I told y'all about talking to my high-school friend and his father from across the street? Well, the friend asked if I needed an old Subaru engine. I said, “No.” he asked if I needed an old Subaru. I asked if he meant the blue one in the garage and he confirmed that to be the one. I told him I'd been trying to buy that car for years but his dad kept saying, “It belongs to Tina.” Tina being the sister and another high-school acquaintance of mine. “Tina doesn't want the thing!” Danny said. “Sell him the car. You need the space.” They told me about the stuff “wrong with” the car but it is all stuff we usually fix/replace as soon as we get a “barn find” anyway. I said I'd finger out a way to pay for it once they got me a price. So, we’ll see.
