I was going to say, “Sorry for the language” about yesterday’s rant, but I'm not. I mean, I'm not only not going to say it, I'm not sorry for it. So there. Don't like it? Suck it! Quit reading my blog. I noticed Chuckie has been making a comment from time to time. I also meant to make note of them to reply. This I did not do. I suppose, Juan could argue, that I could go back in and re-read what he had to say and comment on it now. Well, Juan underestimates just exactly how lazy I am. Oh well, what are you going to do? So, ever since stopping off in Italy to look at domes, I've been working on designs for a home and shop. I think I may have settled on one. What we’d have is a 36’ dome as the main storage section of the shop. Jutting off of that, at 120° from each other, would be three 20’ domes. Two of them would be the work bays with individual doors to the outside world. The third would be the SALS (Standing Around Looking at Shit) area with a break room sort of thing and a shitter. Off the “back” of the SALS dome, there would be a “tunnel” to the house. The house would consist of one 20’ dome in the center with four 16.5’ domes at 90° to each other (45, 135, 225, and 315°to the shop tunnel). The central dome would house the great room area with a dining section and a living room section, sort of thing. One of the 16.5’domes would be the kitchen, pantry, and utility room with laundry, HVAC, and water heater. The other three 16.5’ domes would be individual sleeping quarters thingies with a bedroom, bathroom and closet each. I've got the whole thing sketched out in Tiny and Flaccid... er, I mean Microsoft Paint. If I decide to go forward, I'll send that drawring along to the dome people and have them tart it up as need be. Price? How does $322,445.22 sound? Yeah, sounds pretty high to me too, but it’s better than the half million dollar complex I began this process with. Oh, and that three hundred kilobucks is just a guesstimate. I'm sure the real quote will be much higher. So, having said all of that, I'm thinking a steel building on the land in Boyd might be the way to go. I don't know though. We'll see.
