Well, I swapped hammers between the two Saigas the other day. It didn't really hurt the trigger in the 7.62x39 and it may have helped the 12 gauge a tiny bit. So, I guess I will be converting the 12 gauge after all. I'm not sure if I mentioned ordering a different gas regulator for the 12 but it arrived yesterday. I installed it last night. The trigger/hammer pin retaining plates have not arrived yet but I'll install them when they do. I also ordered a cool AK style front/ghost ring rear sight set yesterday. Larry and I were looking at them and he convinced me that I wanted one. I ordered one for his 12 gauge too. I still haven’t seen hide nor hair of the trunnion and pistol grip I bought two weeks ago. The post office says it processed through the Trenton New Jersey facility on the 22nd at 1807 h. I've tried to contact the USPS but, being the biggest union in the universe, their bureaucracy is so convoluted that it is impossible to get any satisfaction. The web site is no use and the phone system is worse. I did finally send a message to the seller complaining about not seeing the product. Maybe they have a better “in” with the post office. I'm not holding my breath and I'm moving on with a different approach to the 12 gauge. Oh, I drove Aunt Bea to work yesterday! It was quite nice... well, it wasn't bad in the morning driving in to work, but going home was a beast! I'm ashamed to admit it, but I don't really mind the “Granny Tranny” all that much. John said the same thing when he was driving the car. I guess when something is just that underpowered, you don't expect it to be able to get out of its own way and just accept that you can't be in a hurry. It was the same with Mr. Wiggly. OK, don't think about that van any more, it is too depressing. I really miss that stinky, hot, uncomfortable, hard-to-drive, slow, noisy, gas-guzzling, ugly-assed thing. But enough of the pity-party. What’s done is done. Since this is a “First Sunday” weekend, John won't be available to work at the shop on Saturday. Which is cool since I got a text from Jeff asking about my trailer last night and I think we’re moving his Hilux from Lake Worth to Sanger tomorrow. That is, if I can get Fifi back from John. Thing is, I don't remember why John has Fifi. I know he used it to help the other John, John Ullom, pick up his “new” motorcycle, but why does he still have it? I remember it was also part of taking delivery of Aunt Bea, and there was something about getting the blue 510 legal. I don't know, I apparently wasn't listening. I wonder if there will be an aside from Spiderman ‘splainin’ stuff when this gets posted. Oh, for those of you in the Peanut Gallery who weren’t here for the original joke, I call John “Spiderman” when referring to him as my “Web Master” when he posts these rants to Blogspot for me. Get it? Web Master = Master of Webs = Spiderman. Aw, who cares what you think, that’s funny stuff right there. “It’s gold Jerry, GOLD!” But I digress. The point was... well, there probably wasn't a point. But I'll need to get either Fifi or Fifi and John to the shop so I can drop the Spitfire off the trailer and help Jeff with his Hilux tomorrow. Hmm, I hope the wood on the trailer is up to at least one more haulage. I really need to replace that wood with “C” purlins some time. I think they will be lighter and they won't rot the way wood does. Meh, we’ll see. Well, I'm bored with talking to y'all. I'm going to call it a rant, go pee, help someone with a meeting, have lunch, take a nap, then go home. So there.
