Well, I've ordered a few more items for Fiona. I decided that the stock grille is downright ugly. I found one I like and ordered it. Then I thought, “Well, if the front Hyundai badge is gone, I might as well replace the rear badge as well.” Unfortunately, the badge the “matches” the grille is just a black oval with the words “Roadruns Motor Sportivo.” I do not like it. Why is it the badge that “matches” the grille, because the grill I bought is by Roadruns. No, I decided to go with the KDM (Korean Domestic Market) “Eagle Wings” badge for the rear. I'm not in love with the shield in the middle which says “Genesis” but I like that badge the best of the ones I've found available. I also bought the matching “Eagle Wings” steering wheel badge. I'm debating going all out and getting the road-wheel center badges as well. Psh, who am I kidding? We all know I'll get them eventually. I might as well do it now while I'm thinking about it. I don't know, we’ll see. I guess I'm really getting used to this car now. See, I park Fifi on the street in front of the house. On Wednesday, trash day, I have to move Fifi from the street so the trash and recycle can be picked up. Now, I have the choice of shuffling cars around on Tuesday evening so Fifi is in Fiona's spot and Fiona is parked behind mom then driving Fiona, or I can just move Fifi behind mom and drive Fifi. I finger driving Fifi once a week is probably a good idea so I usually choose the latter option. Well, yesterday I found myself missing Fiona. I never did that with Ms. Clio. Sure, after driving Fifi for a while, say several days, I'd get back in Ms. Clio and realize I really like driving a car, but I never missed it while driving Fifi. I guess Fifi and Ms. Clio just drove so much alike... somehow. Not so with Fiona! Oh no! Worlds different. I guess I need to stop “bashing” Ms. Clio and Versae in general. It was, and still is I suppose, a very good car. Well, it was a good car. Maybe not “very good.” No, it was a very good car for what it was designed to do and I had a lot of fun with it. Any disparaging remarks I might make about it, especially these last few weeks, are probably based on me trying to justify to myself that buying Fiona was the right thing to do. Yeah, I can see that being the case. So... um, there’s that going on. Speaking of “Goings On,” there is some sort of hootenanny going on at the Enkei Wheels facility up on 171 tomorrow evening. I asked John if “we” were going and if “we” wanted to bring The Seven to it. It would mean driving The Seven to work tomorrow though. I guess I need to look at tomorrow’s schedule to see if that is an option. Hang on. Hmm, I have an 0800 h meeting. I don't think I'm willing to risk it. So, I guess if John and I are going to this thing we’ll either take Fiona, his car, or both. Oh yeah, I think it is safe to tell y'all that he went ahead and bought a Focus the other day. It is a dead sexy black five door sport model. I would bust his balls about getting an automatic but a) it is actually one of those “Twin Clutch” jobs which are almost kind of cool and 2) he obviously doesn't have balls anymore because he bought an automatic. “Oh snap! He went there anyway!” No John, I'm just kidding. I'm kind of, almost, nearly, warming up to the “Twin Clutch” thingy. I can see how it would be really fast at shifting. I understand how it could lower lap times. I can see why it is becoming the technology to have. I just, and I think John understands this, I just want to shift my own gears. I just do not like the video game driving experience. Holy crap! Where has the morning gone? It is 1130 h! I guess I'll call it a rant and go have lunch with Larry. Talk to y'all tomorrow. If you’re lucky!
