I don’t thank Spiderman enough in here for constantly posting these inane rants. Thank you John for constantly posting these inane rants. Having said that… I got nothin’. There is a British Car show Sunday at the British Emporium in… Grapevine I believe. I asked John if he wanted to go to it and he said he did. I imagine we’ll be doing that Sunday. Now, whether or not that means we’ll be going to the shop Saturday is still up in the air. If I'm going to take The Seven to the show I'll need to replace the battery. I suppose I could attempt to do that at the house, but it sure would be easier at the shop. Here’s what I think I'm going to plan on doing, I think I'll try and get just enough charge in the battery to fire the car up, drive it to the shop, and change the battery there. Of course I haven’t looked at the weather to see if this is a viable option. Ok, current forecast shows sunny and 69° on Saturday. Hmm, I wonder if the formatting will transfer that degree symbol when I send this to Spiderman and when he posts it to the rant. I guess we’ll see. Anyhoo, with that forecast, that sounds like a viable plan now doesn’t it? So I guess I'm going to put The Seven on the trickle charger tomorrow evening and see if it will start on Saturday. John, feel free to come by and follow me to the shop Saturday morning, if we’re both going that is. I think I am going to do the battery swap no matter what because I'll “need” the car next Sunday for the JCS thing at Freebird’s. Hmm, what now? Oh, I think I might have a solution to my jones for a hunting Saiga. I think, for the time being, I'm just going to plan on swapping furniture from tactical to hunting on the 7.62x39 I have if ever I “need” to go hunting. I might go buy another side-rail optic mount and a scope for the hunting configuration as well. Then again, I might mount the cheap assed “holographic” thing I have on the Beretta Neos .22 carbine and move the scope from that to the 7.62x39’s new optic mount. In fact, I think that is exactly what I will do. I may swing by Bloodbath & Beyond after work and pick up one of those side-rail optic mounts. I need a battery for the cheap assed “holographic” thing also. I might as well pick up some “hunting” ammo in 7.62x39 while I'm there. I'll need something other than the Russian stuff in my inventory if I'm ever going to get to shoot this gun anywhere so I might as well. You see, gun ranges in this litigious nation have a morbid fear of lawyers. They don’t want to do anything which might open them up to liability. They really don’t want someone firing armor piercing ammo at their backstops for fear of penetration. This I can understand. However, just because a bullet is magnetic, does not mean it is armor piercing. All of the ammo I have is a gilded metal shell over a lead core. It does NOT contain a steel penetrator in the middle. I have sawn a bullet in half to look. It isn’t there. But does that matter to the gun range? No. If it is magnetic, it MUST be a penetrator! Ok, I'm being a bit harsh. Yes, I understand erring on the side of caution… but it still pisses me off! So, I guess I need to buy some 7.62x39 “hunting” ammo. Let’s go have a look at prices right quick, shall we? Oh, y'all are still here. Oops. I went on line on the other computer and got involved with other stuff. It is now… several hours later than before. Well, I bought fifty rounds of Hornady SST ballistic tip ammo way back when, when I went shopping. The price was just a tad higher than the gilded metal Russian stuff I priced at Bloodbath & Beyond so I went for it. If I take ten rounds to the range in Whiskey Flatts, that’ll leave me with forty on hand for hunting… or going back to that range I suppose. Then again, I could always take it to Elk Castle for some practice as well. We’ll see. Well, I'm just about bored with talking to y'all right now. I think I'll go do something else for a while. We’ll chat again soon.
