Man, this has been a day from heck. No, I'm not getting soft; it just wasn’t quite bad enough to be from hell. But I'm not going to get into it. It might piss me off. What I will get into is the fact that I am dumb. Yesterday I told Larry that I was thinking about going to Bloodbath & Beyond after work. He said he was thinking about it too. We decided that we’d go and then have dinner at Taco Casa. He really digs Taco Casa. I waited for him to finish with his day and then we headed over. They, once again, did not have a regular Draco in stock but did have a mini. I looked it over and decided that since I couldn’t change the front hand guard, I'd hold out for a “full sized” Draco. Then I made the big mistake of the evening, I asked if they had any Mare’s Legs. They did. They even had one in .45 Colt. I played with it for a bit and thought it over. Just as I was deciding that it was fifty dollars more than I'd seen them at the gun show, the dude told me they weren’t charging sales tax. We did the math and it turns out that after tax on the gun show gun would have been only ten dollars cheaper. “Get the paper work,” I told him eventually. Yep, I bought a Mare’s Leg last night. We hung out for a bit longer and then went to eat. I got home around 2000 h and cleaned the cosmoline, or whatever the modern equivalent is, out and off of the gun. I cycled the action for a little while to loosen it up. It feeds my snap-caps perfectly and spits them across the room just like the other lever gun. Me rikee rots. I would like to see if I can find someone with a small-hoop lever who’d like to trade for the large-hoop on my gun. I just don’t like the large hoop. It’s only there for that Hollywood spin-cock action which will just get your ass killed if you tried to do it when the fit hits the shan. I'm just not sure how to go about finding a small-hoop lever. Anyhoo, that’s about all I have time for today. It is already 1625 h so I guess I'm going to call it a rant and finger out what I have going on in the morning. Toodles.
