7/18/12

Well, I can park Fiona wherever now.  No more need to worry about door dings.  To make a short story long, I was in the right hand left turn lane when the guy in the left hand left turn lane decided to go straight.  He hit my left rear with his right front.  It left a big “Earnhardt” on both cars and scratched up the paint.  There are probably wrinkles in the metal as well, but since it was on the street side, and I was more interested in keeping my job by getting the 0800 h War Room call up and going, I haven’t examined it very closely yet.  I will probably go out and look it over in a little while.  The car drove fine the rest of the way in so I'm pretty sure there is no suspension damage.  I'm understandably irked, to say the least.  But other than that, everything is just rosy with me.  Of course next week’s UN Small Arms Gun Grab Treaty signing has me worried.  I'm thinking I otter sell off all of my guns while I can so that the shit-for-brains won't have anything to confiscate once the second amendment is repealed.  It’s coming people.  Feh, it makes me sick at my stomach to think about it.  So I'm going to stop… thinking about it, for now that is.  I think the plan for Saturday is as follows: since I'm not confident that the War Room will be fixed by then, I will probably have to come dial in and babysit the 0800 h call.  From the railroad I will go to the Ford dealer to pick up John who wants to get his oil changed.  We will then go to the shop and “finish” Lil' Wiggly… and hopefully install Fiona's steering wheel.  We will caravan Fiona and Lil' Wiggly to my house and then go back for John's car at the dealer.  I'm sure we’ll eat sushi at some point in there as well.  Gregg was making noise about doing his father’s Saiga 12 conversion Saturday afternoon but I'm not going to hold my breath.  Oh, my US made trigger, hammer, and sear for the SKS arrived Monday so I'll probably do a little amateur gunsmithery Saturday afternoon nonetheless.  By the way, I used herculean self-control yesterday and did NOT buy a 75 round drum magazine for the 7.62x39 Saigas.  I want one but, as I said up above, don’t want the Clinbama gun grabbers to just take my shit away from me with no compensation.  THAT is the bit that has me the most irked about the whole gun ban issue.  Once they declare them illegal, we’ll have to surrender them and be out all that money we’ve invested.  You know good and well that they won't pay anything for them because we have no other choice: “Surrender the guns, or have them taken away while you go to jail.”  Either way, we’re out significant money with no hope of restitution.  That is why I'm thinking I might try to sell everything while I can.  It’s a gamble, sure, but I'd have some money in my pocket whereas those who hold out and hope for the NRA to defend their “rights” won't.  Bah!  I'm pissing myself off again.  We need a revolution, but I'm afeared it is far too late for that.  I read somewhere that the greatest civilizations, historically, have all had about a 200 year run.  We’ve gone 236 years with the US “democracy.”  It was a pretty good run.  Too bad the fucking fuck-assed fucktards had to go fuck it up.  Yes, I'm talking about y'all, Washington DC… and especially the Dumbocrats, though the GOP ain't much better.  T’is a sad, sad state of affairs.  Sad indeed.
