So I drive home in Fiona last night thinking, “Yeah, this really is a pretty
bitchin’ car.” I tell mom the idea of
selling it and she rolls her eyes at me.
She passive/aggressively points out that a couple months before I bought
Fiona, we’d gotten me out from under the car loan on Miss Clio and then I,
“…turned right around and bought another car.”
“Yes,” I replied, “but the Versa had A DEAD RAT IN THE AIR
CONDITIONING!” “Oh,” she said. “I forgot about that part.” I went on to justify my actions in buying
Fiona by saying that even if Miss Clio didn’t actually smell like dead rat
anymore, every time I got in the car that was all I could smell. That car HAD to go away. Did I need to buy something as extravagant as
a Genesis Coupé? Well, no… but it is
pretty bitchin’. I drove in to work
today and let the car continue to woo me with its charms… and total
bad-assitude! I parked in the garage
nose to nose with a gorgeous Cadillac CTS V-Spec Coupé and wound up walking in
with its owner. We stroked each other’s
egos about our car choices and I decided, “Fuck it. Living paycheck to paycheck isn’t so bad when
you have a bad ass car like Fiona.” Hmm,
I guess I understand the “pimped-out ride in front of the ghetto housing
project” mentality finally. Anyhoo, I
texted John telling him something to that effect as I walked to my office. I checked my bank account and I did get paid
last night so I fingered I'd pay some bills.
After the phone, house loan, car insurance, and two credit cards… I've
got $50.00 in checking. Yeah… Fiona, I
love you, but you’ve got to go! We'll be
rolling to the Southlake import car show this Sunday sporting a couple “For
Sale” signs. John has promised to take
some pictures so we can post it up on some Genesis fora. No, I will not spell it “forums.” Hmm, I just perused Craigslist and
e-Bay. Prices for Genesis Coupés are not
as strong as I'd hoped they might be. I
might be stuck. That is a bummer. Oh well, eating is overrated. Speaking of eating, I guess I'll call it a
rant for a while and go to lunch.
Fuf! I ate too much. Ok, so we’re rapidly approaching 1500 h. I have to take a screen and RCA cable across
the street in a little while so I think I'm going to call it a week up
here. Monday is a holiday, so don’t look
for a rant. I'll tell y'all about the
weekend’s activities on Tuesday.
Toodles.
