2/1/13
Aw hell, I’ll go ahead and get it over with…
What the fuck?!?! Frerbruraryr
already? Where is the time going? Ok, with that out of the way… um, I got
nothin’. Larry bought a “Gun Test”
magazine which had an article about a kit to convert a Saiga 12 shotgun, or any
of the rifles for that matter, to a Bullpup configuration. I found it on line this morning… the kit that
is; he made a copy of the article for me to read. It is only $275.00 for the kit and I want one
really bad. Of course my first thought
was to then buy Larry’s unconverted Saiga 12 to put it in but now I'm thinking
of using it for my 7.62x39 Saiga. Why
not use my Saiga 12? It already has the
trigger group moved forward to the standard AK-47 position and the Kushnapup
kit is for an unconverted weapon, like my 7.62x39 Saiga. Of course with all the parts I've just bought
for Lil' Wiggly, I would be dead-ass broke for the next two weeks were I to buy
one. Actually, after paying bills and
such, I'm a little short of the amount needed to buy one. What I'd have to do, and I probably will
suggest it to him even though it is fiscally irresponsible of me, is order two
and have Larry cover shipping, taxes, and what I can't afford on mine while
paying for his. We’d call that a
“Service Charge” for using my credit card and ability to go online. I envy him not having ever gotten on
line. He is the Luddite I wish I'd
remained. But I digress. I don’t think he’ll gopher it, and to be
honest I would be better off if he doesn't.
“So don’t even bring it up,” I hear some wag saying. Well… shut up. Hmm, I just had a thought. I wonder if he would trade his unconverted
Saiga 12, and a Kushnapup kit, for my converted Saiga 12. Now that might work. If I could get into one without any out of
pocket expense, I could justify doing it.
Ok, since I have to go fly a bombing mission, and have a proposition for
Mr. Larry, I think I'm going to shut down the rant for a little bit. I may be back later. Hey! I
haven’t said that yet this year either!
So, there you go. Well, Larry
didn’t jump at it, but now I'm thinking I'll make the offer to Gregg. He has an unconverted Saiga 12 as well. I really like that Kushnapup stock. I've had the hots for a Bullpup weapon… hell,
ever since I saw my cousin’s Steyr AUG back in the eighties. Part of me wants Gregg to gopher it and
another part doesn’t… but I'm not really sure why. I guess all I can do is make the offer and
see what he says. Ok, it is rapidly
approaching lunchtime. I think I'm going
to call this rant complete. I'll talk to
y'all again on Monday.
