I'm not sure how to approach this subject so I'm just going to dive right in. Ooh, sounds ominous, does it not? Well, it really isn't. Not that ominous, at least. I suppose it could be slightly ominous, if Juan were to look at it from a certain angle. Like, if he were to squint his eyes and tilt his head to the right at a forty-five degree... but I digress. OK, here goes. My house is too big. There, I said it. It makes no sense whatsoever for me and a cat to bounce around in that big-old place once mom is gone. Of course, it is really too big even now with the three of us living there, but that is beside the point. So, I'm thinking about re-thinking my re-think about the shop/apartment in Boyd. I “need” more garage than living space, when push comes to shove. Building a big shop and dropping a two or three bedroom mobile home on the same foundation makes more sense than staying in this house and moving into another rental shop space. I'm not going to speculate on how we’d divvy up the place, but I'm thinking about 15’x20’ bays for each car plus some communal machine shop/fabrication area. I'm trying to decide between individual doors for each bay and a single entry point with a central driveway. Individual doors would be more expensive to build but would probably be a better setup. Anyhoo, Boyd wouldn't be any more inconvenient than the shop we’re in now, for me especially if I'm living there. Plus, if I have a spare bedroom or two, we could make “Shop Weekends” happen, maybe. If Pat and John had a place to crash Friday and Saturday night, they could come up after work one Friday every month or two and work on stuff all weekend, going home Sunday evening. We have discussed that sort of thing before so I'm not just coming up with that idea out of my ass. I think it is feasible, the whole thing not just “Shop Weekend.” I'd charge them a pittance of rent per bay of course. I'm dumb but I'm not stipud. We'll all need to discuss it of course. Then again, I could just go ahead and do it and if they don't want to join me, they can go sit on a tack. Psh, can you believe those guys? Oh wait, they haven’t rejected the idea yet. Well, I think I'm going to call it a rant for today. Cipher and figger on that shop idea for a bit. We'll discuss it more at a later date I'm sure.
