The more I think about the B-210 we picked up Saturday, the more I want Lil' Wiggly back on the road! I need to get down to the shop and finger out that headlight situation. I don't need to get down to the shop and start the process of swapping in the L-series engine. I want to get down to the shop and start the process of swapping in the L-series engine, but I know I shouldn't do it just yet. What we need to do, and it pains me ever so much to say it, is swap the L-series into John's car first. His needs to lose the slush-box anyway and his motor mounts (at least the driver’s side) are shot. I don't see any reason why we ort to do a transmission swap and an engine swap later when the transplant will be just a tad more work, once. Of course it also lets us finger out all the pitfalls before doing my car. Now, having said all that, it does make a bit more sense to do mine first if he’s planning on his being his daily driver. If mine is down for a few weeks (more), it won't matter. With his down he’ll have to source alternate transportation. I don't know what to say. I really need to get back to work on Nadine and finish that project. Feh, I'm not even ready to start talking about that again. Well, I think I've settled on a floor plan for the dome shop/home complex. Unfortunately, as cool as it is I’d be willing to bet that a plain old straight-wall steel building and mobile home will be a lot cheaper. Oh, and then there’s the fact that a 60’x60’ steel building has almost 2,000 more square feet than the dome shop I have designed. Hell, even dropping a 60’x15’ mobile home inside the 60’x60’ shop is over 1,000 more square feet than the dome. I really need to get in touch with a contractor and get a real life quote for the shop. It will cost me $300.00 to get the quote for the domes and I'm pretty sure it will be exorbitant. I suppose Juan could argue for building the shop in steel, with the mobile home in it of course, then building my cool Dome Home later. Of course a Victorian would be cool too... as an alternative. I have always wanted a Victorian. OK, I need to get in touch with a steel building contractor in the Boyd area and get a quote. I'll probably call up “Nitro,” the guy who quoted me the building fifteen years ago. In fact, I think I might try to look them up up right quick. Hang on. Well, I found the number but then chickened out before calling it. Yeah, I'm a puss. I think what I'll do is get in touch with a couple contractors I know, Gregg and Sam f’rinstance, and see what they have to say. Damn, I wish I'd jumped on that $110,000.00 building “Nitro” quoted me fifteen years ago. I'd be shittin’ in high cotton right about now. Geeze, as much as I've paid in rent for the shop I'm in I probably could have... no, not going there. I made the mistake of looking at the drawings for the shops I was thinking about building next to the Burkett house. The biggest problem there is storage for the “Back Burner” projects without looking like a junkyard. Well, that and the house is far too big for me and a cat to justify. Sure, I could get more cats, but the house is still too big. What I'd need to do is find a room mate/live in maid. Hmm, some hot little TCU coed perhaps? Then again, maybe not. Well, I think I might have said about all I have to say today. I guess I'll go play solitaire for an hour and then go home. Buh bye.
