3/31/2011

I am going to Cabela’s after work. Their website, and Beretta’s for that matter, show that they are a Beretta dealer and that there might be a 4” barreled U22 Neos there. I know I could go to Not Texas to Bachman Guns and Pawn, the folks from whom I bought The U.N.C.L.E Gun at the last gun show, and get one. Thing is, I don't want to transport one across state lines. Yeah, I know, since Not Texas is fully withing the border of Texas it really isn't transporting across state lines. OK, I just don't want to go to Not Texas if I can help it. I guess, if it really comes down to “I gotta have one NOW,” I'll go to Not Texas and get it there. But first I'm going to check out Cabela’s. I'm going to wait for Larry to get done with his Shuttle Bussing duties (tee hee, I said doodies) and drag him along. He’s always saying how he wants to go check out Cabela’s so I'm going to make him poop or get out of the Ganges about it. So there. Nitro keeps calling me, as I knew he probably would, but this last call was really out of the blue. He was going to buy Supercross tickets and wanted to know if I wanted to go with him. He wants to show off how “popular” and “famous” he is in the motorcycle racing world. I couldn't possibly care any less. I said I was already booked all day Saturday and that I appreciated the offer, but I would have to decline. He is also claiming that he spoke to someone and the land does NOT have city water and sewer available. He claims it stops just before my land. I'm pretty sure this is bullshit since my cousin-in-law has actually built his home on the land and is the one who told me it is available. Nitro just wants to get around having to get permits. It is really beginning to cause me concern about using him. I know I'll probably wind up paying more for a proper build, with permits and inspections and such, but it sure would suck to have the city come in and fine ME for having the illegal building. And that’s about all I have to say about that. I think, changing subjects once again, that I'll discuss down draft versus side draft options with John on Saturday. While a single DGAS isn't anywhere near as sexy as even a single DCOE, much less duals, it ort to be sufficient to feed that engine. Of course one new DGAS will still be in the $350.00 range, but that would be NEW and ready to bolt on and go. I'd wind up paying the same for a pair of DCOE carburetors and they would NOT be jetted right, most likely. OK, I keep saying DGAS as if these on line suppliers are going to sell me a 38/38 for a 1,500cc engine. They are more likely to insist on a 32/36 DGV instead. Hmm... OK, since I was running a 32/36 on Mr. Wiggly’s 3.7 liter Slant Six without any trouble, I guess it will work fine on an engine 60% smaller. Fuf, it sure is the epitome of un-sexy though. Then again, we are talking about a B-210 after all. I don't know. I sure don't want to settle for a DGV... then again, I could use what we have on hand to get the thing running and plan to swap to a DCOE setup at a later date. Hmm, perhaps, perhaps. Well, I have to go pee so I think I'm going to call it a rant. Have a day.
