I had to revert to being a Tiny and Flaccid… I was going to say “guy” but realized that made me look bad. No, I'm now a Tiny and Flaccid user again. You see, Friday evening my laptop “crashed.” Yeah, it crashed into the back wall of the closet when I threw it across the room. This time it borked the monitor. I was without a computer after that. Saturday morning John picked me up in his bitchin’ new ride and we went to get mom’s computer fixed. The place she recommended wasn’t there any more so we went to Best Buy. John heard that my laptop was gone and suggested that they had the best price for a new one. They did, but it was a notebook and just a wee bit too small for my taste. We got mom’s computer fixed and went on our merry way. We did a few things at the shop then went to look at those Mercedes Benzes John knew about. The first one we looked at was a four door 190d. It wasn’t too bad, in retrospect. When we saw it though, it was way too rough for me to consider. Oh, and it was a diesel. It was a four cylinder diesel. It was a four cylinder, non-turbo diesel. No thank you. We rolled to the next place to look at the two door coupe. Holy crap! I thought the first one was rough! Yikes! Had I seen this one first, I might have bought the other. No, no no no no! We walked away. From there we went to look at another pair of cars. These were quite nice. Unfortunately the owner knew how nice they were and they were out of my price range. Psh, as if I could have bought one anyway! And I do not need any more projects. It was easy to walk away from them actually. From there we decided to see if we could find the Triumph repair place where I'd sold many of Nadine's parts last year. I wanted to know if he’d be interested in buying the two cars from me. We rolled to Arlington and did find the place. John took point and told the guy about the cars but turned to me when the question, “How much do you want for them?” came up. I hemmed and hawed a bit then said, “If I could get $500.00 for the pair I'd be happy.” They discussed and thought it over for a bit but no final answer was given. I'll probably come back with, “Make me an offer,” because anything he does give me is profit, as we discussed the other day. Well, it won't really be profit because whatever he gives me I'm going to offer to Nadine as an apology for not going through with the restoration. Anyhoo, after a while of talking to them, they got a call to come rescue one of their friends. John and I talked to the owner’s son for a bit about the Datsun pickup he’d just bought. John showed him all the stuff he’d done right, wrong, and should do in the future. Then we went to Campo Verde for lunch. I love Campo Verde’s cheese sauce! Love it love it love it! We ate then headed out again. John asked if I wanted to go to the Hyundai dealer to look at the new Velociraptor… or whatever the hell it is called. I said I did indeed want to go look at it. About halfway there he got a call from his wife asking his ETA home so they could go to a birthday party. We diverted to my house where John dropped me off and went on his way. The trunk badge for Fiona had arrived while we were out. I set forth de-badging the car’s ass and installing the new badge. I got the “Genesis” and “Coupe” badges off and cleaned up the tape residue. I got the “3.8” and “R-Spec” badges off and cleaned up their residue. Then I set to removing the liner of the trunk lid, as per the instructions on line. Yeah, you don’t really need to remove that liner. I began prying the emblem and got it to come off without removing the screws from the plastic alignment thingies. I cleaned up that tape residue. I knew that this was going to be under the new badge so I wasn’t too concerned about scratching that paint. Good thing too because… well, there are some scratches hidden under the new badge. Not bad scratches, like down to metal, just blemishes were they to be out in the open. Anyhoo, I got that installed and stood back to admire my handiwork. Me rikee rots! I goofed off the rest of the evening until the internet failed me on my Dingleberry. Yep, I needed to go to AT&T on Sunday and get a new phone. But I'll tell that story tomorrow.
