I spoke to Gregg last night. He is
planning to come to the shop on Saturday to convert his father’s Saiga 12. Well, we’re not actually “converting” it
because that implies moving the trigger group forward to the standard AK
position. No, we’ll be leaving the TG
back in the “sporter” position but putting on a different stock, fore end, and
trigger group. Oh, I guess Juan COULD
say we’re “converting” it from a Russian trigger group to an American. So yeah, there’s that going on. I'll be installing the US made hammer,
trigger, and sear in my SKS at that time as well… probably. Ok, here’s a “funny.” I used quotes because… well, it is more of a
“Meh,” but I found it funny. I got
distracted while typing that last sentence… the one about installing the
hammer, trigger, and sear. I left off
with the following incomplete word containing a typo: “… ro”. I sat for several seconds trying to gather my
train of thought to finger out what word, starting with “ro,” I was trying to
use there. Did I bother to re-read the
rest of the sentence? No, not at
first. Of course once I did I knew I was
trying to say “probably.” Anyhoo, I
found it amoosing. Ok, so I swung by
John's house last night to ask his opinion on the damage to Fiona. He wants it fixed. He wants me to fight with the other dude’s
insurance. He does not want me to pay my
$500.00 deductible to have my insurance fix it and go after his insurance. I'm so disgusted with the idea of messing
with his insurance that I probably would just clean the “Earnhardt” off and
ignore the scratches and wrinkles. Hell,
it is just about worth $500.00 to NOT deal with his insurance… to me. I'm still “sleeping on” what to do. John texted earlier to say that most body
shops will deal with the insurance hassle for me. I replied, “Hmm.” He went on to ask if I wanted him to find one
for me. I feel bad dragging him into
this but… well, I don’t know what. I
think I left it with a positive sort of answer to the effect of, “If y’ain’t
too busy.” In fact, I believe that was
the EXACT thing I said. Wow, Tiny and
Flaccid Werd does NOT like that double apostrophe “word” back there. WELL TOO BAD!
I DO! Anyhoo, so I guess we’ll do
some more cipherin’ and figgerin’ on it Saturday. Speaking of Saturday, remember last year how
they took away two of the train cars we had on display here at the corporate
office? Well, those two are ready to
come back and they are taking the other two away this Saturday. It is going to be all I can do to NOT hang
out and watch that after babysitting the 0800 War Room call! Oh yeah, hey John, I'm probably going to be
here Saturday morning for the 0800 War Room call again. Well, feh.
I've been sitting here for the last few minutes trying to think of more
to say. I'm not having any luck. I guess I'll call it a rant and go take a nap
or something.
