I
have been in the crappiest of moods for the last couple days. Tuesday John and I both were on the verge of
giving up on all the projects and getting the hell out of the car hobby. Yesterday… well, I was just in a crappy
mood. Suffices to say, I didn’t feel
like talking to y'all either day. Today,
however, was the Asian Heritage Day event here at the railroad. That means super-hot Indian Bollywood
dancers! Go to www.ignitetheblue.com and find Nirmita Shukla, she’s my
favorite! YUM! Oh, and Chicken Tikka Masala for lunch made
the day extra super special. Sure, I had
to bust my ass and set up the sound system.
Sure, it began to rain on us right at the end. Sure, I had to strike the equipment in the
rain. Sure, all of that sucked… but
super-hot Indian dancers and Chicken Tikka Masala! I'm in a much better mood today. Also, John sent a video to me of a Datsun
1200 in Japan which apparently keeps him going in the sport. It was quite cool. So I think the shop will still be in our
future. Speaking of the shop, I was
talking to mom the other day and she asked if we’d done anything about it. I said we had not but then a thought popped
into my head. Dad used to office out of
a little complex on 377 between the Benbrook traffic circle and I-20, I otter
go see if there’s anything available there.
I told John about it and I think I might go check it out Saturday. Of course I must first change the oil in The
Seven, but after that. With it being
Mother’s Day Sunday, I doubt John will be joining me at the shop. We’ll see.
Ok, so I'm watching “Wheeler Dealers” on Velocity last night,
right? It was one of the rare times
where I didn’t want one of the cars they were building. Both were Volkswagens… water cooled
Volkswagens. One was a diesel van from
the ‘80s and the other was a Mk I Golf (Rabbit here in the states) GTI. The van turned out pretty cool, but it didn’t
make me want to go out and buy one. The
GTI was super cool… but I just don’t really want one. No, if I'm going for a “Pull Toy,” it is
going to be a lower case Mini. Of course
I still have the hots… well, “luke-warms” at least, for the $1,600.00 Alfa
Spyder on Craigslist. I'm going to go
see if it is still there. Hang on. Wow, I should have bought it last week. It’s listed for $1,900.00 today. Yeah, I'm not paying THAT for it with no
interior and a wonky fuel system. So,
there’s that going on. I still haven’t
heard any more from the Florida dude about George going away. I'm not going to sweat it though. If he wants it, he’ll contact me. I needed to get that engine out no matter
what. If I've still got George when Lil'
Wiggly is “done” I'll reconsider a hopped up A-series in it. We’ll see.
So, what else is there? I can't
really think of anything so I guess I'm going to call it a rant. Yeah, that is exactly what I'm going to do.
