So the other day I was driving home when I saw a shorty Dodge van with a “For Sale” sign shoe-polished on the window. I tried to call the number but it was out of service. I'm thinking it was a “burner” phone they bought just for the sale of the van and threw it away when the deal was done. The new owners just hadn’t washed the windows yet… but that is all speculation of course and not even integral to the story at hand. It got me thinking about something John had said last weekend. Apparently there is a dude where John works who is in love with Fifi. Every time John drives it, the guy is trying to buy it. So I says to John, after seeing the van, that if the dude were to be willing to pay enough for Fifi, and John could find a van I'd be happy with, I'd let him broker the deal and keep the difference in the two vehicles’ prices… sort of thing. John tentatively agreed but wants to wait until we’re done moving into the new shop to ask. I agreed that that was a good idea. So, there’s that going on. I've been in a Management meeting all day today babysitting microphones for the top level mucked-mucks of the railroad. Was it as much fun as it sounds? You betcha! At least I got a good free lunch out of the deal… and a couple Diet Mountain Dews for the office fridge. Oh wow! When I said “all day” I didn’t realize what time it actually is: 1555 h! I think I'm going to call this a short rant and go hang out with Larry for the last hour of the day. Toodles.
