I finally found a tracking
number for the 90/22 stock. It should be
at the house when I get home! Right
after I found said TN last night, I went online and ordered a few more gubbins
for the gun. I bought five more 10 round
magazines, six little rubber covers for them, and two interconnector
thingies. The interconnector thingies
mate two 10 round mags “butt to butt” so that when one is empty, Juan just has
to eject them, flip them over, and reinsert for another ten rounds of
firepower. They also fit up inside the
90/22 stock so the profile of the gun isn’t spoilt by having a 25 round
“banana” mag poking out the bottom. The
reason I only bought two was the Tac-Pack I bought with the 90/22 stock comes
with one… along with extended magazine and bolt release levers, and oversized
charging handles. So today at work I'm
thinking, “Well, I've got just about everything I'm going to need for this gun…
but the muzzle still looks odd with the front sight out there.” I probably should have waited until I saw the
fake suppressor that comes with the kit, but “I need a muzzle brake/flash
hider” syndrome hit me with a vengeance.
I thought, “Surely someone makes a slip-fit muzzle brake/flash hider for
a 10/22.” I went online to look. Yes, someone DOES make a slip-fit muzzle
brake/flash hider for a 10/22. I decided
against placing yet another online order and had a look at Bloodbath &
Beyond’s website. They showed one in the
#9 warehouse… wherever that is. I
decided I'd swing by and see if I could get one at the “instant gratification”
location. Then, at 0955 h this morning,
I decided I'd go right then. As I was
sitting down in the car thinking, “This is dumb. You don’t need to go to BB&B.” my belt
snapped. “Well,” thinks I, “now I HAVE
to go.” I'd bought that belt at BB&B
so I fingered I'd go get another. I
sauntered in, holding up my pants asbestos I could, and headed for the catalog
desk passing a rack of belts on the way.
The guy behind the counter said they didn’t sell belts any more so I
went to the accessories counter to see if they had the flash hider/muzzle
brake. They did not. I went back to the CD and bought the FH/MB
from him then went to look at the belts.
As I approached them, a sales lady walked up and asked if I was finding
everything ok. I told her my belt broke
and was about to look at her selection.
We found one in my size and I gave it a try. It seemed to be fine so I said I'd take
it. I started to put it back in the
baggie when I realized I might as well go ahead and put it on. She took the baggie with the price and headed
for the registers. I threaded the belt
through my pants and cinched it up. Then
I had a look at the price. Yikes! $86.00 for a friggin’ belt!?!?!? Well, I needed it so I went ahead and bought
it. It is a nice leather gun belt though
so it otter work well enough… I hope. I
hopped back in Fiona and came back to work where you find me now. And with all that told, I'm going to lunch. Have a day.
