Well, I received a reply from Dick Brink regarding the value of The Seven. After a few back and forth e-mails, it
doesn’t look like he’s going to be willing to pay what I'd need to walk away
from the car. Perhaps I'm misreading his
tone, but it sounded like, “I sold it to you for $10,000.00, what value has
been added to make it worth $12,000.00 now?”
I'm not going to justify myself, or my work, to make a sale I'm not 100%
convinced I really want to do in the first place. So I politely told him I had decided against
the sale for now. Speaking of deciding
against selling, the person I'd given the chance to buy the Tavor backed out as
well so I took it to the gun show on Sunday.
After walking the entire show, and noticing that the retail price of
Tavors has gone down since I bought mine, no one was willing to part with the
money to buy it. I think I'm going to
consider it a part of the arsenal for the time being. Of course now I need to come up with $500.00
to “buy back” all that ammo in hock at Larry’s.
I finger I'll use the money from the sale of the trailer to do
that. I think John's brother is going to
buy it either this weekend or next… I don’t remember when John told me it would
be. I sold… ok, John sold the Honduh
engine and transmission for me this Saturday.
We wound up getting $233.00 for it because I had $7.00 in my wallet
instead of a ten to make change for the kid.
I need to take fifty to the dude who owns Hondamotive and Lexutech since
I still owe him that last bit on the thing. John has a couple guys on the hook for the
Mini. They were supposed to come look at
it Saturday but never showed. Hopefully
they’ll come through for me. As cool as
it would be to have a Mini, that one is a bit too much “project” for my liking
right now. What else is there? We’re almost through with the wiring on
John's 1200. Once we have the mega-fuse,
relays, horn, and fan installed, we can wire them up and be done under the
hood. I'm not sure when he’s planning to
bring the dash back, but that wiring is going to have to wait until then. It doesn’t look like it will be much longer
before that car is back on the road.
We’ll see. I've been promised
that as soon as we’re done with the wiring on his car, he’s walking away for a
month to help with Lil' Wiggly. I'm not
going to tell him “NO!” but it isn’t 100% necessary. I've got to finish the wiring on that one as
well. I guess I'll have him help me get
the dash back together and in, then shoo him away to his car again. I know he wants to remove the rear suspension
in his to do something, so I think there are still enough projects that we can
work independently of each other. I've
got to stay focused and finish Lil' Wiggly before moving on to either the Chickenhawk
or the Spit. While the Spit, in theory,
could be back on the road sooner, I feel a bit obligated to get cracking on the
Chickenhawk after Lil' Wiggly is up and running. I've had it over half of its life… and half
of that has been spent sitting in limbo behind the shop. I really must get to work on it. I also think I've decide on the “Rasta
Homage” paint scheme. No, I did not
discuss it with John, I just decided on my own.
In fact, I just decided right now.
So there. I think it will
work. But is it red on the left and
green on the right or green on the left and red on the right? I think I'll consult the disinformation super
speed-bump… AKA the intergooglewebcoms.
And since I'm just about out of things to say, I'm going to call it a
rant as well.
