Well, I blew off going to Cabela’s yesterday. I started thinking about their parking lot and decided it was too much of a pain in the ass. I did go to Academy and picked up a gun case and caps for the Mauser’s scope. I looked at their lever-action rifles but there wasn't anything in .45 Colt. I moved on to Elk Castle. They had a few .45 Colt lever guns, but they sure were proud of them! We’re talking $1,100.00 or thereabouts. No thank you. Oh, they did have one in the consignment section for $425.00 or so, but I could get a new one for just a little more. I passed. So, now I just need to avoid Cabela’s for the next two weeks until the gun show and I'll reconsider the Travel Agents’ gun. I'm thinking I'll go to them and point out that I've been watching that gun for at least the last five shows. I'll offer them $400.00 for it and haggle up. Yeah, I probably should have bought that instead of the Saiga that time, but I'd never seen a .410 Saiga and I wanted it. I don't “regret” the Saiga, per se, but... well, I don't know what. Yeah, so I need to avoid Cabela’s. I said that already. It won't be hard to do today because I need to get home and make sure mom’s car situation is under control. She couldn't get it to start this morning at some store. Someone tried to jump start it and it still wouldn't so I'm thinking dead starter. I suggested she have AAA tow it to the Nissan dealer but I'm not sure what she’s going to do. I'll call her in a few minutes. Or perhaps she will call me, which she just did. When AAA arrived, the man had a look around and tried jumping it again. This time it fired right up and she drove on home. He suggested having the battery checked, a plan I wholeheartedly agree with, and said that if she didn't want to stop on the way home, to go on home and call them again if it doesn't start tomorrow. I imagine I'll have a look at it when I get home, as if I can tell anything without a tester. Sure, I could go to the shop and get my battery charger/tester/jumper hoozis, but I don't really want to. So, I may use her as an excuse to cut out early today and go ahead and have a look at Cabela’s guns. Yeah, I'm dumb. We all knew that. In fact, the more I think about it, the dumber I get. I think I am going to split at about 1530 h and head to Cabela’s. That’s about an hour and a half from now. Solitaire and a nap shall precede the out cutting I think. Have a day.
