Since I didn’t work yesterday, due to (tee hee, I said "doo doo!") it being a “holiday,” I didn’t send a rant to Spiderman. I guess we’ll get caught up today, shall we? Saturday morning I met John, eventually, at the shop where he was finishing up the rear suspension on his 1200. I swapped in the rounded hammer in Monty while he was working on that. Once I was happy with the way Monty's trigger felt, I set to work “helping” John with his project. Yes, it is in quotes because I just sat back and watched as he worked. Eventually he got wheels on it and set it on the ground. We rolled it outside and he hosed it off. Under four years’ worth of dust and grime, there was a pretty nice looking Datsun 1200. He took a few pictures and then we rolled it back inside… pointed the other direction. We didn’t do any work on Lil' Wiggly, but that’s ok. We cleaned up and headed to Maharaja for some Indian food. The chicken Tikka Masala was a little spicier than usual but it was quite tasty. We stood in the rain for a bit and talked then went our separate ways. I went home and took a nap. I didn’t do anything productive all the rest of the day. Sunday was pretty much the same. I know mom and I went to lunch at Saltgrass Steakhouse but after that I didn’t do much of anything. Oh, wait. I did go for a protracted hoon in Fiona now that I think about it. Monday morning I met the service guy here at the railroad so he could look at a projector and tell me what I already knew: it is shot and needs to be replaced. I took a crap in the third floor OOB bathroom and then went home. Mom was rounding up a bunch of stuff for the… hmm, how to say this euphemistically, “Obama Supporter” couple at the church. They had just moved from the flea-bag motel they were living in to the ghetto apartment they are now renting and needed stuff. We loaded it all into Fifi and headed into the ‘Hood. I was glad I had a 1911 and three full magazines in my holster the whole time. Luckily I didn’t have to bust any caps though. We, Earl and I, unloaded the stuff from Fifi and then mom went home in her car. Earl and I then went to his storage unit to, and here I'm quoting mom, “Pick up a few boxed items they had left over from the move.” Yeah, “a few boxed items” my shiny white ass! It was a storage locker FULL to the rafters with their stuff. We loaded one full truckload then took it back to the apartment. When that was unloaded, Earl sent me on my way. He’ll need to borrow Fifi again to get the rest of the crap, but I don’t plan to be involved… other than providing the truck of course. I told him I was using Fifi on Saturday since John and I had already made plans to move an engine. They’ll just have to get it done next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Not my problem. After I got home I said to mom, “If I didn’t already owe YOU so much, you’d owe me for that!” She apologized and said my sister was coming in to town and that we’d all go to lunch. She did and we did. It was the first time since we put springs and the zorst on Fiona that mom rode in there. She didn’t complain… much. We ate at Olive Garden and then went back home. I think I wasted the rest of Monday afternoon and evening as well. So now we’re back to work for a short week. I can't remember if “Monday off” short weeks are the ones that take forever or if it is the “Friday off” ones. We’ll see, I suppose. Oh, I still haven’t seen hide nor hair of the check from the dude who “bought” Nadine. He called to say he was sending another check and to ask that I destroy the second one to arrive… if they both do eventually come. I said I would and we discussed the car’s history a little bit. He seems happy with the deal so I'm happy… I guess. I'll be happier when the check comes and clears but I'm certainly not unhappy. What else? Well, the short shifter for Fiona hasn’t arrived yet, but that doesn’t surprise me too much. Perhaps it will come this week. We’ll see. I guess that about sums it all up. I'll talk to y'all later.
