6/4/14

I forgot to mention one other thing from Saturday.  While welding on John’s seat bracket, I got a bit careless and picked it up by the hot part once.  I failed to get to the sink to cool the burn quick enough and now I have a whopping great blister on the palm of my hand.  It is roughly lenticular with a long axis of about 1” and a short of about ½”.  I know that doesn’t sound very big, but trust me, it is.  You know the big muscular meaty part of the palm right by the thumb?  Yeah, that whole thing is a blister… well, mostly.  So, there’s THAT going on.  Ok, so I’ve been reading a website called “The Truth About Guns” recently and I’m not so sure whether or not the Gumment is going to try for another ill-conceived “Assault Weapon Ban” in the near future.  With that in mind, and the fact that I’m broke-ass, I am giving serious consideration to selling off some of my “Scary Black Guns” before Osama Bin President sends his jack-booted thugs to confiscate them.  I have listed the two Saigas on Texas Gun Broker to get a feel for the market.  I am being a bit cheeky with my price, but it is basically what I have in them.  I don’t need to sell them so there’s no point in low-balling myself.  I’ll be bummed to let them go but… psh, they are just things, y’know?  My thinking on the “keepers” is thus: my 100 year old semi-auto, double-barrel, single shot, and pump shotguns are probably going to be safe in the case of an AWB.  Besides, the Vice-Idiot “Double Barrel” Biden recommends a scatter gun for home defense.  The lever action, bolt action, and single shot rifles will be ok as well… Juan would think.  The Mosin Nagant, even though it has a pistol grip and removable muzzle brake, should be ok since it is bolt action and only holds five rounds in an internal magazine.  I think the 90/22’s welded-on flash hider and detachable magazines might slip by since the gun doesn’t have a true pistol grip… and it is ONLY .22 caliber.  So that leaves me worrying about the two Saigas, the Tavor, and the SKS.  Of the four, I think the one I would fight the hardest to keep would be the SKS… then the Tavor obviously as both Saigas are listed on TGT as mentioned above.  The Tavor should fetch the most money… but dayum!  It is so friggin’ cool!  With any luck it will stay off the radar of the gun grabbers and won’t be included in the ban.  We’ll see.  So, what else is there to say?  I guess I could talk about cars… or not.  Yeah, I think I might be done talking to y’all for the day.
