John sent me a picture of some RBs in "light red." I like it… but we’ve come up with a different
idea. We’re now thinking about leaving
the spokes black and painting the lips "light red." This, I think, will look really good. Of course “the horse” is just a wee, tiny
little speck in the background behind this “cart” at the moment. John has said that he’s going to continue to
crack the whip on me to finish Lil' Wiggly while HE gets to work on the
Chickenhawk though. Hopefully I'll have
Lil' Wiggly going soon and will be able to join him in working on my car. We’ll see.
Pat sent me a link to a video on the U-Toob, or whatever, of a Renault
Espace with a Formula 1 engine in the back.
That got me thinking, which is NEVER a good thing. My neighbor across the street has, in
addition to a bitchin’ Honda N600 and a very clean 1980 Subaru GLF Coupé, one
of those egg-shaped Toyota Previa mini-vans.
He’s got Alzheimer’s and she has never driven in the forty years I've
known the family, so the kids are probable going to be selling cars soon…
except for the Honda, unfortunately.
When I saw that Renault video, as I said, I got to thinking… “What if we
were to shoe-horn an Lexus SC430 V8 in the middle of that Yoda van?” I could even live with it being a slush-box…
probably. Of course I'll never do it,
but it is kind of fun to fantasize. What
I do think will happen before too much longer is that I'm going to end up with
that sweet Scoob. I know, I just got rid
of a bunch of… ok, my only extra car, why would I get another? Ok, how many times do we have to go over
this? I'm dumb! And I've just done a little interweb browsing
on that car which only makes me want it more.
Hopefully Tina, the daughter who owns the car, won't go looking at the
NADA website to see what it is worth.
They, NADA, claim it’s still worth $1,600.00 to $3,825.00! I'd place this car, from memory, in the
middle of the road condition wise so I'm looking at a $2,500.00 thirty-five
year old Subaru! Well, I'm not sure I'm
THAT interested. I might, MIGHT, go as
high as two grand if it turns out to be as nice as I remember… but I'll start
the bidding much lower if it ever comes around to buying time. We’ll see.
I need to finger out how to get John to buy the house so I'll at least
know some of the foibles of the new neighbors.
I'm not looking forward to new neighbors. Have I ever mentioned how I hate people? Well, I do… as much as I hate computers. Yeah, people suck. Anyhoo, what else is there to talk about
today? Hmm, well it is a third-weekend
so we won't be going to the shop Saturday… at least John won't. I might still head down and do something with
Lil' Wiggly's wiring. I'm off tomorrow,
and Monday, so I'm really going to be at a loose end. Ok, I've been staring at the screen for five
minutes (not really that long but it I like hyperbole) trying to think of more
to say. I'm not coming up with anything
so I'm going to call it a rant. I'll let
y'all know what, if anything, happened over the long weekend on Tuesday.
